Peanut butter often leaves us with the daunting task of scraping out the last bits from the jar. Instead of letting it go to waste, why not transform it into a versatile and delicious peanut butter sauce? Let’s jump in.

Ingredients:

The remnants of your peanut butter jar (about 2-3 tablespoons)

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (adjust based on spice preference)
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • Juice of half a lime
  • 2-4 tablespoons water (to adjust consistency)

Instructions:

Add the soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, sriracha, grated ginger, and lime juice into a nearly empty peanut butter jar (about 2-3 tablespoons left).

Next, add 2 tablespoons of water to the jar. Secure the lid tightly and shake vigorously until all the ingredients are well combined. If the sauce is too thick, add more water, one tablespoon at a time, until you achieve the desired consistency. The goal is a smooth, pourable sauce.

Drizzle it over a crunchy Asian salad, toss it with warm noodles, or use it as a dipping sauce for grilled chicken or tofu. The possibilities are endless!
