Ever wondered how those little chewy gummy bears are made? Well, it turns out making your own isn’t just possible, it’s actually a lot of fun! With just a few basic ingredients and some simple steps, you can whip up a batch of homemade gummy bears that are tailor-made to your taste. Let’s jump in!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fruit juice (clear juices like apple, grape, or pear work best for vibrant colors)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons gelatin powder
  • 1/4 cup honey or another sweetener like agave syrup
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Flavor extracts (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the fruit juice, lemon juice, and honey. Heat the mixture over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally until the honey is fully dissolved.
  2. Sprinkle the gelatin powder over the juice mixture while stirring continuously. Keep stirring until the gelatin is completely dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
  3. If using food coloring and flavor extracts, add them now. Stir well.
  4. Remove the mixture from heat. Using a dropper or small spoon, carefully fill the gummy bear molds.
  5. Place the molds in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours until set.
  6. Once set, gently pop the gummy bears out of the molds. They should be firm yet chewy, with a glossy finish.
