How To Make The Best Cranberry Sauce

Cranberry sauce is a delicious addition to any roast, and the fruity sweetness makes meats such as turkey and goose even more tasty. Whilst making your own at home does taking longer than buying store bought, the results are definitely worth it, so check out this recipe for the best cranberry sauce ever.

Ingredients (to serve 6):

  • 2 cups of cranberries
  • Juice and zest of 2 oranges
  • 3/4 cup of caster sugar
  • 1 apple, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup of water

Instructions:

  1. Heat the water, sugar and cranberries in a pan. Stir well and cook for 10 minutes.
  2. Stir in the minced apple, orange juice and zest and cinnamon and nutmeg.
  3. Simmer for 25 minutes, until the berries have popped and softened.
  4. The sauce will keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
