Summer in Mexico is synonymous with Micheladas. This tart, spicy beer cocktail is a perfect treat for when it’s hot outside.

This cocktail recipe is super-easy to make at home. Here’s how!

Ingredients

  • 1 12-oz bottle or can of cold Mexican light beer (we recommend Pacifico or Tecate)
  • 2 teaspoons Mexican hot sauce (we recommend Cholula)
  • ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Juice of 2 fresh limes
  • Tajin seasoning
  • One large beer mug
  • Ice

Instructions

Start off by filling a beer mug about one-third of the way full with ice.

Next, you’ll want to rim the edge of the mug with Tajin, a Mexican seasoning that is readily available and contains chili, salt, and lime. If you can’t find Tajin, try mixing about a teaspoon of chili powder with a tablespoon of kosher salt to achieve the same effect.

After you do this, go ahead and pour your can or bottle of Mexican beer into the mug.

The next step is to pour in the Mexican hot sauce and the Worcestershire sauce into the mug. Then, juice the two limes and add them to the beer as fell. Stir gently with a spoon until all of the ingredients are combined well. Garnish with a lime slice if you’re feeling fancy.

Enjoy your Michelada!
