These Homemade Flavored Salts Boosts Any Recipe’s Flavor

Flavored salt is probably the quickest way to get lots of flavor into your food. Not only are you seasoning it with salt, but the extra flavorings inside the salt bring new life to your food, and it couldn’t be easier to make flavored salt at home!

Citrus

Citrus salt is an amazing way to make any meal come alive. And what better way to make it sing even more than to add it to a salt! All you have to do is use a lemon, lime, grapefruit, or any other citrus fruits that you have available, and zest them so you have 1 tablespoon worth. You can mix the citrus zests but it’s probably better to keep them separate so the flavors can really pop out. Add that tablespoon of zest to 1/2 cup of kosher or flakey salt, mix it up, and you have your own citrus salt!

Herbed

Herbed salts are wonderful on everything from protein, potatoes, bread, and more! All you need to do is add 1 teaspoon of your favorite dried herb like sage, rosemary, thyme, oregano, or whatever you like best with 1/4 cup of kosher salt and mix it up! You have the perfect finishing and cooking salt.
