This Honey-Walnut Shrimp Recipe Only Takes 30 Minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup walnut halves
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 egg white
  • 2/3 cup cornstarch
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. To make candied walnuts, boil water and sugar in a pot. Add walnuts, boil for 2 minutes, then drain and dry. 
  2. For the sauce, whisk mayonnaise, honey, and sweetened condensed milk. Set aside. 
  3. In a separate bowl, beat an egg white until frothy. In another bowl, sprinkle out your cornstarch. Dip shrimp in egg white, then in cornstarch. 
  4. Fry in hot oil until golden and crispy, about 2 minutes per side, and drain on paper towels. 
  5. Toss fried shrimp in honey-mayo sauce, then plate and top with candied walnuts. 
  6. Garnish with green onions for a finishing touch and enjoy.
