Homemade guacamole is totally delicious and very easy to make. You can have it on toast or in a burrito or any way you prefer it really, it’s always good. Make it quickly and easily in your kitchen with this easy-to-follow recipe.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe avocados
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 small red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 medium tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut your avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the innards into a bowl. Mash the avocados with a fork until you achieve your desired level of smoothness.
  2. Squeeze the juice of one lemon over the mashed avocados to add sharpness and prevent browning. Add the finely diced red onion, crushed garlic, and diced tomatoes to the bowl.
  3. Incorporate the fresh cilantro into the mixture. Season your guacamole with salt and pepper to taste. Start with a pinch and adjust according to your preferences. At this point taste the guacamole and make any necessary adjustments to lime, salt, or pepper.
  4. You can also add crumbled feta or cheddar for extra creaminess and tanginess if you like.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Enjoy with toast, in a burrito, or as part of a salad!
