Homemade guacamole is totally delicious and very easy to make. You can have it on toast or in a burrito or any way you prefer it really, it’s always good. Make it quickly and easily in your kitchen with this easy-to-follow recipe.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe avocados
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1 small red onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 medium tomatoes
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cut your avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the innards into a bowl. Mash the avocados with a fork until you achieve your desired level of smoothness.
- Squeeze the juice of one lemon over the mashed avocados to add sharpness and prevent browning. Add the finely diced red onion, crushed garlic, and diced tomatoes to the bowl.
- Incorporate the fresh cilantro into the mixture. Season your guacamole with salt and pepper to taste. Start with a pinch and adjust according to your preferences. At this point taste the guacamole and make any necessary adjustments to lime, salt, or pepper.
- You can also add crumbled feta or cheddar for extra creaminess and tanginess if you like.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Enjoy with toast, in a burrito, or as part of a salad!
