Pancakes are an American breakfast staple and one of the country’s most delicious contributions to the world culinary scene.

What you may not know, however, is that pancakes are incredibly tasty and simple to make in your own kitchen.

Here’s a recipe that’ll show you how to make your own homemade pancakes in a flash. This recipe yields about 6 pancakes.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups white flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 12 ounces whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

Begin by preheating a griddle (or, if unavailable, a stove) to medium heat, coating the pan with butter.

In a large bowl, mix together white flour, salt, brown sugar, and baking powder. Be sure that all ingredients are blended well.

Next, in a medium bowl, pour in the 12 ounces of whole milk. Proceed to beat the two eggs and two tablespoons of melted butter into the milk, blending the two together.

After this has been done, pour the bowl containing milk and eggs into the large bowl containing the dry ingredients. Do this gradually and stir the mixture as you go until you’re finished. You can add more milk and/or butter if the batter is lumpy or dry.

Finally, pour the batter on the griddle and cook on both sides until golden brown.

Enjoy!
