Everyone young and old love marshmallow cereal treats. The perfect combination of crunchy cereal mixed with sweet and soft marshmallows is just simply scrumptious. What is so phenomenal about these classic squares they’re made with only three ingredients, and even one of them is super flexible. Whether you have a bake sale coming up, a party to prepare for, or just want to bring your friends some sweets, this is the recipe for you!
Method
- Melt 1/4 cup of butter in a medium saucepan.
- Add in 4 cups of miniature marshmallows and stir consistently until the mixture is almost completely incorporated. Cook for another 2-3 minutes but keep an eye on it.
- Take the mixture off the heat and stir in the cereal immediately. Make sure every piece is coated in the mixture or it will not stay together.
- Pour all the ingredients into a greased dish that is also covered in wax paper and press down on it so it spreads evenly.
- Allow the cereal treat to cool on the counter before you go ahead and cut it into squares.
- Put the squares in a freezer bag to keep them fresh up to 2 days in a dark cool place beside the refrigerator, or 6 weeks in the freezer!
